From Weeds to Wall Art - Even for the Littlest of Hands

The other day Aslan and I were moseying around the yard, talking about everything we see and asking and answering all the questions..

He started picking up weeds (there are MORE than enough scattered around for him to discover!) and lining them up on our concrete wall. It quickly turned into us counting the weeds, sorting them from smallest to largest, talking about the intricate details of them, and on and on and on.

One thing I treasure so much in this season of being a mama is the way he pushes me to find meaning and purpose in everything. For him, there’s no need for an agenda. He doesn’t need a schedule of fun activities and social gatherings. My Aslan, he wants YOU. He wants quality time, endless conversations, adventure (that he finds in the absolute mundane), and a pal to seek it out with.

My heart has rested in this way of life over these past few weeks. He has everything he needs as long as I am willing to enter in and join him in the adventure of life.

As he lined up weed after weed flat on our concrete wall, it reminded me of a beautiful line drawing. I asked him if he wanted to do a little project with Mama and he quickly said YES! :)

I went in to look for paint and came out with a few ink pads, instead - its all I could find!

We grabbed a sheet of paper and a rolling pin and got to work! We documented our process and are hoping that you and your littles will join in and create some “weed art” too! haha Even if you don’t have littles, this is a super easy and fun project that creates a BEAUTIFUL piece of wall art!

Honestly, I was blown away with how gorgeous this piece turned out! We hope you enjoy our little video and we would love for you to tag us on instagram @dustmadejewelry if you make one of your own!
